Mesh is an implant made of polypropylene material that’s surgically inserted in the vagina. It is often used to treat involuntary urination and pelvic organ prolapse. In 2010, Health Canada warned hospitals about the side effects. Marika English, who was at the rally, said she had surgical mesh implanted during a hysterectomy in Saskatoon. A few weeks after the procedure, English said she started experiencing severe pain. “It’s like a vice grip clamping onto my stomach with,…

Spacewalk camera zooms in on Saskatchewan

Two astronauts carried out a spacewalk on Saturday to fix what may have been the source of an ammonia leak from the International Space Station. Canadian ISS commander, Chris Hadfield, was assigned to oversee the mission. Chris Cassidy and Tom Marshburn ventured out into space at about 8:45 a.m. ET and travelled about 45 metres to the workstation. While at work, a camera attached to Mashburn’s space helmet captured a view of Saskatchewan. The image is not very clear, but check it out in the video stream from NASA. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2013/05/11/sk-saskatchewan-from-space.html?cmp=rss
