P.A. police capture escaped prisoner
It took a chase through thick bush and a brief struggle, but Prince Albert police have captured a 39-year-old escaped prison convict.
It happened Tuesday, four days after Terrance Michael Yew was discovered missing from Riverbend Institution, a minimum security prison at Prince Albert.
He was serving a sentence of two years and 10 months for flight from police and driving a motor vehicle while disqualified.
Yew was found Tuesday following a break-and-enter at a business in the city that sells clothing.
Some employees were looking for stolen jackets that they felt might have been abandoned in an area outside. While looking, they spotted Yew on 11th Street NW.
Police were called and Yew made a run for it, heading into the bush.
Officers followed, captured him and he’s now in custody.
Police are continuing to investigate the BE.
